PLANNED PARENTHOOD COMES TO TWIN FALLS

Like many residents of the Magic Valley, I have heard rumors that Planned Parenthood is seeking to establish an office in the Twin Falls area. It should come as a surprise to no one that I vehemently oppose the arrival of this duplicitous organization.

Planned Parenthood supposedly offers "assistance" to pregnant women and "help" in the sexual education of children. In fact, Planned Parenthood promotes abortion almost exclusively (over 150,00 / year in the U.S. alone) and encourages children to participate in deviant sexual behaviors.

Documents are easily obtainable that also demonstrate that Planned Parenthood was founded by progressives for the purpose of social engineering / population control ("stopping the multiplication of the unfit" - Margret Sanger), and that Planned Parenthood has worked with tyrants around the world to promote forced abortion and sterilization programs. Sadly, Planned Parenthood has funded much of their un-American ideology with U.S. taxpayer dollars (over $120,000,000 in 1998).

Ideology aside, what really grieves me is the mass of misery that organizations such as Planned Parenthood leave behind in their wake of non-viable tissue. I have experienced personally this misery and humbly share the following:

In the early, 90's a woman, a "significant other" of mine, became pregnant. We agreed that she should have an abortion because neither of us were 'ready' for this child. So, after a couple of days in Boise and a swipe of the credit card, my unborn child was no longer. What could be more convenient, unless of course we could have had this "procedure" performed locally.

Now, almost ten years later as I play catch with my 12 year old or sit and read to my 18 month old, I regret the hasty decision we made to kill my unborn child. I regret not being able to play catch with that child. I regret not being able to sit and read with that child. And I wonder…. I wonder if I will ever tell my two sons that they had a sibling. I wonder how broken my parents will be when they learn I have robbed them of a grandchild. I wonder if the pain of knowing I helped kill my own child will ever go away.

I pray that abortion providers such as Planned Parenthood never come to the Magic Valley. This valley does not need the kind of pain that comes with this type of evil.
